Description: This on-line course covers part of the syllabus for Office of Government Commerce Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply Paper 3. The course enhances awareness of contracting within the Service environment.
Aim: To promote professional development within purchasing and supply and to provide opportunities for raising levels of awareness of contracting for the procurement of services.
Duration: 6 Hours Approximately.
Pre-Requisites: For those undertaking the Office of Government Commerce Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply, it is advisable to have completed Commercial Practitioner Workshop 2 (CPW2). For other Commercial staff and those in the wider acquisition community, there is no pre-requisite. Objectives: By the end of the package learners will be able to:

• Understand the main components of the procurement of services, and the practice of specifying service requirements;
• Awareness of the practical considerations of terms of contract and contract management of services within the organisation;
• Understand the concepts of contract management, and develop awareness of the components of sound contract management practice;
• Understand performance criteria and their inclusion in contract terms, and an awareness of performance measures and their application to contract management.
