ILS Management & Supportability Engineering

Description: This workshop is the first in a series in the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Practitioner Level Programme. It is designed for MOD ILS Practitioners working towards their ILS Level 1 Licence or taking a formal step towards obtaining knowledge in any of the five ILS Functional Competences. It builds upon the knowledge acquired via two on-line training course modules which precede it, and delegates will be expected to complete an on-line facilitated learning exercise, in their own time, after the workshop.
Aim: The aim of this workshop is to introduce delegates to the management of ILS and Supportability Engineering. In a series of interactive sessions, delegates will be able to analyse, identify and choose the appropriate ILS management actions and activities within typical projects. It introduces ILS disciplines which are further developed in later elements of the programme.
Duration: 3.5 days non-residential.
Pre-Requisites:

• Level 1 Licence applicants – successful completion of ILS Learning Management (ILSLM) session;
• Successful completion of on-line training modules 1-8 of ILS Practitioner Core Modules On-Line Training (ILSPCM).

Designed For: For those who are working towards their ILS Level 1 Licence or taking a formal step towards obtaining knowledge in any of the 5 ILS Functional Competences.

Objectives: By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:

• Identify which ILS Management documents are required and when each one is due;
• Select the correct management process for an ILS programme;
• Evaluate what ILS activities are required and who is responsible for each of them;
• Decide on the appropriate timescales and milestones for an ILS programme to meet the ILS requirements at IG, MG and LSD;
• Identify the management process and documents which are required to meet the milestones;
• Understand the function and content of the management documents for ILS;
• Formulate the ILS inputs for a Business Case and TLMP;
• Identify the stakeholders for the ILS programme and when to engage with each;
• Evaluate the ILS management roles required for a project;
• Evaluate the required ILS responses at each stage of a project;
• Decide on the required ILS review process;
• Evaluate the most appropriate high level management process for a project.
