Commercial Practitioners Workshop 3

Description: This practical, modular workshop allows students to practice the skills required to answer questions in the Office of Government Commerce Certificate of Competence in Purchasing & Supply – Paper 2 and to deliver general business tool training to the wider acquisition community. The subject areas covered are:

• Supply and Demand;
• Financial Accounting;
• Management Accounting;
• Marketing.

Aim: To enhance and reinforce the knowledge gained from Business Intelligence On-Line Training (BIOLT).
Duration: 3 days non-residential.
Pre-Requisites: Successful completion of Business Intelligence On-Line Training (BIOLT). For those taking the Office of Government Commerce Certificate of Competence in Purchasing and Supply, it is advisable to have successfully passed Paper 1 before applying for this workshop.
Designed For: This workshop is designed for those undertaking Office of Government Commerce Certificate of Competence - Paper 2 examination. However other commercial staff and those in the wider acquisition community are encouraged to attend.
Cost for Non MoD Applicants: The cost of this course is £825.00 excluding VAT. Details of payment options will be sent in a confirmation e-mail when you apply for the course.
Objectives: By the end of the workshop, delegates will be able to:

• Describe the basic marketing principles & techniques and how suppliers view their customers in terms of marketing concepts and strategies;
• Describe and illustrate the concept of Option Appraisal and some of the techniques involved;
• Demonstrate those aspects of financial accounting which are relevant to the procurement function;
• Explain the principles and influences of the market, in particular the laws of Supply and Demand.
