| Description: |
Acquisition Employment Training (AET) is designed to provide
military officers with no prior experience in Acquisition with
the competences and cultural induction to contribute effectively
to Acquisition on arrival in their post. |
| Aim: |
To provide OF2/OF3 from all three Services with the
knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to contribute to the
delivery of Capability through all stages of the Defence
acquisition cycle. |
| Duration: |
Four weeks of Awareness training followed by one week at
Practitioner level in one of four streams (Programmes, Projects,
Requirements or Support. |
| Pre-Requisites: |
Any OF2/OF3 who has been selected to undertake their first
Core Acquisition appointment. Those wishing to enrol for a
Master’s degree for which AET provides prior learning credits,
will be required to provide evidence of meeting CU academic
registration standards. |
| Designed For: |
This residential 5 week course at the Defence Academy –
College of Management and Technology, Shrivenham is designed for
OF 2/3 military students from all three Services. Places will be
offered to MOD Civil Servants and delegates from Defence
Industry whenever vacancies are forecast. |
| Objectives: |
The course is formally assessed and successful completion
provides Masters level credits in Project Management and Systems
Engineering. Students going into Project Management positions
will also sit the APMP examination from the Association for
Project Management.
By the end of the course students will have achieved the
competences of the TLCM Basic course and will understand
programme, project, requirement management and through life
support techniques and terminology. In addition, each student
will have received one week of practitioner level training in
Programme Management, Project Management, Requirements
Management or Support.
On completion of the course each student will be ready to take
his or her place alongside colleagues from the MOD Civil
Service, Industry and the research community in delivering
Capability.
