Supply Chain Information Systems (Maritime) Workshop

Description:

This five day workshop follows-on from the Supply Chain Information Systems (Maritime) On-Line Training (SCISMO).  gives the student a practical hands-on overview of all aspects of Maritime Supply Chain management functions from “cradle to grave” (initial provisioning through to disposals) utilising the systems within the Maritime environment – CRISP, OPUS & MONITOR in a safe training environment. On completion of this workshop, delegates will be required to undertake the associated on-line assessment. (Assessment Code: SCISMA). This assessment can be accessed through the Acquisition e-learning website.

Aim: To ensure that all Supply Chain Managers within the Maritime environment achieve a level of functional competence required by basic practitioners prior to initial delegation of requirement and/or financial authority.
Duration: 5 days non-residential.
Pre-Requisites: Students must have completed the Inventory Management Practitioner Basic On-Line Training (IMBAOL), Inventory Management Practitioner Basic (IMPB) classroom course and Supply Chain Information Systems (Maritime) On-Line Training (SCISMO) before application for this course will be accepted. This workshop gives the student a practical hands-on overview of all aspects of Land Supply Chain management functions from "cradle to grave" (initial provisioning through to disposals) utilising the systems within the Land environment in a safe training environment. Those seeking to gain their licence will be required to attend this course within 2 months of completing the on-line course.
Designed for: Students who are new to the Maritime Supply Chain Manager’s role and individuals who require hands-on experience of the Maritime IS systems. This course in not open to Industry (DSG) and other environments (Partners) however for those who require hands-on experience of the Land IS systems, applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis

Objectives: By the end of the package students will be able to:
• Understand and use the correct procedures for logging on, navigating around and off SS3;
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge about data creation elements;
• Explain the role of Inventory Management in aiding PTs in managing equipment;
• Identify where Demands for Materiel are received and actioned;
• Describe the Provision and Procurement Process;
• Describe the Key reasons for Disposal activity and how demands are satisfied through the disposal route.
