This on-line course provides an awareness of a wide
range of commercial legal principles affecting MOD which staff may encounter
when working within or dealing with the commercial function or industry
(including how to use MOD central Legal Services). |

Commercial Officers and non commercial staff
involved with the commercial function or interacting with industry who require
and overview of legal procedures. This course is NOT open to Industry but
delegates from UK Government or trading fund agencies will be considered on a
case by case basis. |

By the end of the package delegates will be able to: • Describe Central Legal
Services and explain their role;
• Identify the commercial legal principles that effect the MOD;
• Describe the aim of the public procurement procedures;
• Describe the scoop of remedies available under the regulations;
• Describe competition and recognise what competition law seeks to achieve;
• Explain why contracts are necessary and identify the legal elements of a
contract;
• Identify a breach of contract;
• Recognise the description of a dispute;
• List the different types of evidence. |
