Intellectual Property Rights - In Action
Course Code IPR-IA
Description: A progression from IPRI, or from the Commercial Foundation suite of courses, designed for delegates who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of Intellectual Property Rights.
Aim: To increase awareness of the issues involved in IPR.
Duration: 1 day non-residential
Pre-Requisites: Commercial Officers – Commercial Awareness & Practitioner Programme (On-Line & workshops). Other Officers – Introduction to Defence Acquisition (IDA /IDAOLT) and International Property Rights – Introduction (IPR-I*) (*unless there is an urgent job-related need, which must be clearly stated at time of application).
Designed For: Personnel who wish to develop an in-depth understanding of IPR. This course is not open to industry BUT delegates from UK government or trading agencies will be considered on a case by case basis.
Objectives: By the end of the course delegates will know:

• How the Department handles Rights in Intellectual Property under defence contracts by the use of appropriate contract conditions;
• The strategies used to protect the Departments interests in IPR under International Collaboration.
